A nice circuit starting and finishing in Beerburrum. The first section is on a road and should be started earlier or later in the day to e more comfortable. The start of Cave Road (through forestry plantations) is also quite exposed on a sunny day but is quiet. After a locked gate (to stop motorised vehicles) the wide State Forestry track turns into a narrower National Park fire break through.

The Beerburrum State Forest straddles both sides of the Bruce Highway, and is divided officially in West and East sections, but in fact there are many unofficial subsections made by roads that cut through them and areas reserved as part of the Glass House Mountains Conservation Park.
